Bring the switchable cable to your product line.
Lion Cables' switchable data-disconnect technology - a physical switch that cuts the data lines while charging continues, with an illuminated indicator showing the mode - is available for licensing, co-development, and volume programs, directly from the inventors.
01 - What is licensable
Three granted U.S. utility patents protect the design: the in-line switch cable with a multi-color status light (US 11,251,634), a broader grant covering a switchable cable with a lighted indicator (US 11,631,984), and a retractable-pin variant (US 11,121,568). A Canadian patent has been granted (CA 3,166,005, issued May 6, 2025), and a European application is pending. The granted patents run to approximately 2040. Full portfolio, official records, and international status: see the patents page.
02 - Why now
In 2025, peer-reviewed “ChoiceJacking” research presented at USENIX Security defeated the USB trust prompts on devices from eight vendors, including the top six by market share. Vendors are patching; a physical disconnect never needed one. The FBI publicly warned travelers off free USB charging stations in 2023. Software mitigations keep needing to be re-fixed - a severed conductor does not.

PPAI, the promotional-products industry's trade association, estimates 2025 U.S. promotional-products sales at $27.1 billion.

In May 2026, Anker Innovations signed a patent-license and strategic-collaboration agreement with wireless-charging IP holder Powermat Technologies.
An industry precedent: top-tier accessory brands sign patent licenses with small IP holders.
Source ↗03 - Engagement models
- Consumer accessory licensing. Add the patented switchable tier above commodity data blockers, under your brand.
- Promotional & corporate programs. A security cable is an on-message branded gift for banks, insurers, and security firms - and the light-up indicator doubles as a branding surface.
- Government, fleet & hospitality. Reversible, visually auditable charge-only cables for travel kits, fleets, and guest-facing programs, through incumbent channel partners.
We are open to exclusive and non-exclusive structures, by field of use.
04 - Where the product stands
A working prototype exists and manufacturing partners are lined up; cables are in final development. Diligence materials - including current prosecution status of pending applications - are available on request.
